my favorite beauty products
I love all things beauty. I could talk to someone all day about what their skin care routine is and make-up go-tos. That being said, realistically, if it takes me more than 5 minutes - it's not happening.
With so many products on the market, it is so hard to find the products you will keep returning to. The following products are my current tried-and-true that I have on auto-replenish.
Tata Harper : regenerating cleanser
I use this cleanser every morning. It is a little spendy, but it takes me about 6 months to go through a bottle. The cleanser has little exfoliating beads (not like the monsters in the apricot scrub from the 90s) that is so delicate you can use it every day. I find that my skin feels smoother and is more radiant when I use it.
Merit Beauty : Minimalist Complexion Stick
One of the most difficult things that I am coming to terms with is that I no longer have the smooth, collagen-supple skin of my youth. So finding a product that evens tone, doesn't crease in my fine lines, and isn't heavy is difficult. Merit's Complexion stick is so easy to use and blends like a dream. I also have hereditary eye bags, and I use it as concealer too. My ultimate test is when I put my face on something (iPhone, sunglasses), it doesn't come away with half my makeup - and this wins. It's lightweight and buildable, so you get the coverage you want.
First of all, I am obsessed with French beauty. And Violette Serrat, the founder of Violette FR, is the epitome of all things French (be sure to follow her to check out her videos on Instagram). Her line of beauty products are so simple and really do what they say. The Boum-Boum Milk is a spray moisturizer, serum, and toner all in one. I don't know what kind of magic Violette put in this, but I keep coming back for more. It calms and soothes my skin while being light and non greasy.
I told you I'm obsessed. This combo lipstick - lip balm is amazing. The idea is that look of just being kissed, when your lips are a little puffy, a little extra pink, and matte. The balms have a hint of color that is buildable if you want to make a statement - but perfect for your daily look too. I love it so much I use it as my blush too. My favorite color is rose latte, but Amour Fou is a close second.
Ok, so this one I feel like everyone uses. I see it all the time on influencers' favorite lists, but sometimes I just don't believe all the hype because they're getting PAID to tell me how great something is. Well, guys, believe it. I started using this about 3 years ago, and I liked it. I like when I wake up, I still feel like it's on my lips. But the thing that put me over the edge was my daughter was having really bad chapped lips and rash from drooling (she's 3) and nothing I used worked - not aquaphor, not vaseline, nothing. So I was like "what the hell, why not use a $24 bottle of lip mask" and see what happens. I kid you not, overnight the rash was gone.
