Today, DeShawn H. tells us about her custom Cherished inspiRing.

Deshawn's story

I chose the word "savor" because it is my word of the year for 2022. I am often too busy and go from one thing to the next too quickly.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, I was able to be still and "savor" all that came with that season of life. Although the pandemic was devastating in many ways, it gave me a chance to reevaluate life and what I wanted out of it. I enjoyed life so much more in the still moments of 2020 than ever before.

Fast forward to 2021 and I was right back to the fast-paced life that I led before the pandemic. I was rushing everywhere from place to place, from event to event and rarely stopped to be still and enjoy the precious life we are given. So I made a commitment to myself in 2022 to start savoring each moment, each experience, both the good and the bad, the busyness and the stillness.

I got this ring to remind myself daily that I need to slow down and savor every moment that I can, because time is fleeting and every part of it is a gift.
